Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: August 1, 2026

Our commitment

AHEA, PBLLC, which operates the American Health Equity Association and People’s Health Project, is committed to making its websites, digital tools, publications, forms, and programs accessible to people with disabilities.

This statement applies to:

  • americanhealthequity.org

  • peopleshealthproject.org

  • AHEA’s embedded digital tools

  • AHEA’s online forms and member services

  • AHEA’s digital publications and downloadable resources

  • People’s Health Project campaign information operated by AHEA

Our working accessibility standard

AHEA uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, Level AA, as its working accessibility standard.

AHEA is working toward consistent alignment with that standard.

This statement is not a claim that every page, tool, form, document, account experience, checkout process, or third-party service currently conforms fully to every WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirement.

WCAG is an internationally recognized technical standard for web content accessibility, and W3C cautions that organizations themselves are responsible for any conformance claims they make.

Measures we take

AHEA works to improve accessibility by:

  • Using clear and consistent page structure

  • Applying meaningful heading levels

  • Maintaining readable text and color contrast

  • Providing alternative text for meaningful images

  • Using descriptive links and buttons

  • Supporting keyboard navigation

  • Providing visible labels and instructions for forms

  • Designing content to remain usable when text is enlarged

  • Reviewing mobile layouts and reading order

  • Providing captions or transcripts when audio or video content is used

  • Working to create accessible digital publications

  • Including embedded tools, forms, account experiences, and downloadable publications in ongoing accessibility review

  • Considering accessibility when new pages, tools, forms, campaigns, and publications are developed

  • Providing another means of access when reasonably possible

Current limitations

AHEA is continuing to review:

  • Embedded digital tools

  • Squarespace customer-account and checkout experiences

  • Forms and third-party integrations

  • Campaign actions hosted through third-party services

  • Developing publications and downloadable documents

Some third-party components or developing resources may not yet provide a fully consistent accessible experience.

AHEA does not control every aspect of third-party platforms, including services supporting:

  • Hosting

  • Checkout and payment

  • Customer accounts

  • Authentication

  • Campaign actions

  • External websites and resources

When a barrier prevents access, please contact AHEA so that we can work toward an alternative means of access or another reasonable solution.

Audio, video, and recordings

AHEA does not record Member Strategy Forums or Community Health Leadership Training sessions.

If AHEA later offers recorded audio or video content, AHEA will work to provide appropriate accessibility support, such as captions, transcripts, or another accessible format.

Publications and alternative formats

AHEA aims to make reports, articles, Community Health Impact Reports, and other digital publications accessible.

Some third-party, older, or complex documents may not be available in a fully accessible format.

When reasonably possible, AHEA will provide:

  • An alternative format

  • An accessible summary

  • Another way to access the same information

  • Individual assistance locating or understanding the material

Reporting an accessibility barrier

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of AHEA’s:

  • Programs

When reporting a barrier, please include:
