The State of Health Equity Report will bring together selected health measures, geographic comparison, and insight from people working and living across the country.
Produced independently by AHEA and informed by state, community, campus, and professional perspectives, the report will connect national data with the real-world conditions behind it.

AHEA Health Fairness Index
A developing numeric framework that will bring selected measures of health, access, and the conditions that shape health into a clear geographic comparison.
Context from the field
Place-based perspectives will help reveal emerging concerns, changing conditions, and important realities that data may not fully explain on its own.
Action in practice
Selected People’s Health Project campaigns and other examples may show how communities, institutions, and professionals are responding to identified needs.
Important evidence should remain visible
When health data is narrowed, removed, or deprioritized, it becomes harder to understand where needs are growing, where progress is being lost, and what people are experiencing.
The State of Health Equity Report will create an independent, durable public record that does not depend on the priorities of any single funder, government, institution, or interest group.
By combining transparent evidence with insight from the people and places represented in the report, AHEA will preserve a clearer and more grounded account of health equity conditions as the surrounding environment changes.
Building the first edition
The AHEA National Research and Insights Council will help guide the report’s development.
Public data and relevant research will form its foundation, with additional field and community insight included where it strengthens the final publication.
